Landing a traditional publisher today is not only frustrating; it is nearly impossible unless you already have a marketable brand capable of generating significant profits. Most major publishing houses require writers to have literary agents, and securing an agent has become just as difficult as finding a publisher. Many agents no longer read submissions themselves, relying instead on interns or unqualified assistants to review queries. These gatekeepers often lack an understanding of what readers actually want, and the result is a system that feels careless, inconsistent, and dismissive of new talent.

Traditional publishers have shifted their focus almost entirely toward maximizing profits, often at the expense of the art and craft of storytelling. This is evident in the repetitive, formulaic novels being released—similar authors, similar plots, and little innovation. Greed has clouded judgment, and the industry’s narrow focus has contributed to a decline in young readers’ interest in anything outside of fantasy.

Blackway Entertainment Co. is committed to discovering and publishing both new and experienced writers who produce compelling, well‑written fiction in the murder mystery and crime thriller genres. All queries are reviewed by qualified professionals, and every writer will receive a personal response within 60 days that includes detailed feedback.

Our team provides full‑service support, including cover design, interior layout, formatting, editing, and marketing strategy. Advances are available for authors who deliver exceptional work supported by strong marketing plans. We do not accept submissions from literary agents.

                                         SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Please submit the following materials: Only the title of the book in subject line. Query letter should be in the email text. The Synopsis and three chapters as Word attachments.Send to blackwayentertainmentco@gmail.com

• A one‑page query letter

• A one‑ to two‑page full story synopsis

• The first three chapters of your manuscript

If we are interested in moving forward, we will request a clean, completed manuscript. Please allow up to 60 days for us to review your submission. If we choose to proceed, we will schedule a conversation and prepare a publisher/author agreement. Once the contract is signed, we will begin production on your book.

The full publishing process typically takes six to eight months. Your book will be distributed through IngramSpark and made available in hardcover, softcover, Kindle, and audiobook formats. Titles will be sold through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and select independent bookstores.
